"Ministry of Health" and"Health Emirates" They host the launch "Global Nursing Case Report 2025"For the east average

Dubai, May 12/ WAM/ The Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the Emirates Health Services Corporation hosted the launch of the “World Nursing Case 2025” report at the Eastern Mediterranean region in cooperation with the World Health Organization, which was held virtually with the participation of leaders from the ministry, the institution and representatives of the organization and health care institutions from the countries of the region.
The event, which coincides with the International Nursing Day under the slogan “Our nurses are our future, witnessed the interest in the nursing staff that enhances the power of the economy and supports its prosperity”, a comprehensive review of the report’s outputs and strategic recommendations, as well as a regional discussion episode with the participation of an elite group of nursing experts at the region level.
His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Salim Al -Ulami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, explained that the report’s outputs and recommendations will constitute a strategic road map to develop the nursing profession at the region level, and to enhance its pivotal role in achieving comprehensive health coverage, and pointed out that the UAE was a member of the preparation of the first report, which was launched in 2020, and invested the recommendations to launch a clear road map.
He said: “In its second edition, the report presented an integrated advisory perspective of the nursing workforce, and the UAE’s choice of its launch in cooperation with the World Health Organization is an international recognition of our unique model that succeeded in converting challenges into innovative opportunities that made qualitative leaps in developing the profession and enabling cadres, which devoted our role as a leading regional platform in anticipating the future of the profession and strategically directed to professional development paths in The health sector in the region.
The scientists added: “We have a national strategy for nursing and minerals that adopt international best practices and employ advanced technologies in developing nursing cadres, which includes launching qualitative initiatives that include a program for nursing leaders and an integrated digital platform for continuing education, enhancing the competitiveness of our health systems and supports achieving the goals of the ‘General community 2025’ to enhance the quality of life and community interdependence.”
His Excellency Dr. Youssef Al -Serkal, Director General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, stated that the UAE hosting this historic event in cooperation with the World Health Organization represents an affirmation of its pioneering position in leading efforts to develop the nursing profession at the regional and global levels, and a coronation of an honorable national march, as an extension of the vision of our rational leadership in consolidating the state’s position as a major partner in formulating the future of health professions and promoting the sustainability of health systems, in line with development goals The sustainable and vision of “We UAE 2031”.
He stressed that the UAE has been keen from an early age to support the nursing profession, whether by developing national policies or investing in education, training and capacity building, in recognition of the importance of nursing as one of the pillars of health systems, where the Emirates Health Services Corporation confirms its constant keenness to comply with national and international strategic directions, and its continuous support for the nursing staff.
Dr. Sumaya Al Balushi, Chairman of the National Committee for Nursing and Camels in the UAE, Director of Nursing Administration at the Emirates Health Services Corporation, and President of the Emirates Nursing Association, said that the second global report on the state of nursing 2025 is of great importance because of its indications of the shift in the global view of the nursing profession, and the increasing recognition of the role of the nursing staff as a basic partner in formulating the future of health care.
She pointed out that hosting the UAE comes to the launch ceremony of this report as a reflection of its distinguished career in building an advanced institutional model for the nursing profession.
The Emirates Health Services Corporation continues its efforts to support the nursing staff, and ensure the compatibility of its practices with strategic directions aimed at developing and sustaining health human resources, in order to enhance the readiness of the health system to face future challenges, in line with the directives of the rational leadership to enable nursing as an active element in sustaining health systems.
The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the nursing workforce and its pivotal role in achieving comprehensive health coverage and sustainable development goals, and reveals major challenges facing the sector, most notably a global deficiency of 4.1 million nurses by 2030, 70% of which are concentrated in the regions of Africa and the eastern Mediterranean, and also monitors a great disparity in the distribution of global nurses, as it serves 78% of nurses only 49% From the world’s population, which deepens the gap between the rich and poor countries by 10 times the intensity of nursing.
The report reviews the progress of countries in developing the organizational frameworks of the profession, as 92% of countries have organizational frameworks, while 62% of them succeeded in developing advanced nursing roles to enhance efficiency and improve care access, especially in the disadvantaged areas.
