المملكة: The “Saudi -Syrian – American” meeting .. The Kingdom is leading efforts to enhance stability
The Kingdom led an active diplomatic effort to invite the international parties to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria, and its efforts were crowned with the announcement of the US President to lift the US sanctions imposed on Syria, in response to the request of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister -may God protect him.
The Kingdom’s hosting of the tripartite meeting comes as an extension of its existing efforts to enhance international security and stability and to complete its continuous and historical initiatives to return Syria to its Arab environment, and emphasize its territorial integrity and independence and reject foreign interference in its affairs.
US sanctions against Syria
The Syrian people expressed their joy in lifting the US sanctions on Syria as a result of the mediation of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister – may God protect him – as he expressed his gratitude to his noble highness and his good endeavors – may God bless him – to raise the suffering of the Syrian people and their political, economic and humanitarian support.
Lifting US sanctions on Syria with a Saudi mediator will contribute to enhancing the security and stability of Syria and the success of the transitional process, and supporting the Syrian government in addressing the economic challenges it faces and contributing to lifting the channels from the Syrian people.
The Kingdom appreciates the positive steps that the Syrian government has taken in taking a dialogue approach with the Syrian parties, its commitment to combating terrorism, and its keenness to absorb all components of the Syrian people, in order to enhance Syria’s role in supporting the regional security system.
Support the Syrian government
The Kingdom is working to coordinate with all regional parties concerned with the Syrian file and is keen to align its efforts to support the Syrian government with the efforts of the Turkish Republic and the countries of the region in order to achieve integration and concerted efforts aimed at raising the suffering of the Syrian people and supporting their security and stability.
The Kingdom supported Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara from the first days of his government, as it was the first plane that landed in Syria after the fall of Assad is a Saudi plane, and Syria visited a Saudi delegation on December 22, 2024 AD, then visited His Highness the Foreign Minister and met with Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara, on January 24, 2025 AD and expressed the Kingdom’s support for Syria and its brotherly people.
Rebuilding Syria
As an extension of its efforts to support the Syrian President, the Kingdom hosted Riyadh’s meetings on Syria, with the wide participation of the Arab countries, the United States of America, European countries, and international organizations, to discuss steps to support the brotherly Syrian people, provide and support them, and help him rebuild Syria.
The Kingdom’s hosting of the meeting between the Syrian President and US President Trump is a historical event, as it is the first American -Syrian meeting on the level of leadership for nearly 25 years, which reflects the Kingdom’s support for the Sharia government and its keenness to strengthen Syria’s relations with the influential international powers.
