Withdrawal and loss of Kuwaiti citizenship from 1291 people

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior said that the Supreme Committee for its Citizenship met today, Wednesday, headed by the Acting Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahd Al -Youssef Al -Sabah, and decided to withdraw and lose Kuwaiti citizenship from 1291 people in preparation for presenting it to the Council of Ministers for approval.

This is the latest decision related to the withdrawal and loss of citizenship, as the Kuwaiti authorities withdrew and the citizenship has been withdrawn from tens of thousands of people for various reasons during the past months.

The Ministry said today in a statement on the X -for social platform, the reasons for its decision, explaining that nine of new cases of people with another nationality, which is not allowed by Kuwaiti law.

She pointed out that 199 cases are due to “forgery” in the papers of citizenship, in addition to those who acquired them with the way of dependency.

The decision also included withdrawing citizenship from 1083 people in accordance with the “supreme interest of the country”, who obtained citizenship in accordance with the item “The Great Business” and those who acquired it with them.
