Abu Dhabi, May 15 / WAM / The visit of His Excellency Donald Trump, President of the United States of America to the UAE, is a prominent station in the path of strategic relations between the two friendly countries, and work to strengthen them in various fields, in order to achieve their common interests in development and prosperity.
The visit embodies the depth of the historical relations extending for about half a century between the two countries, which has maintained its durability and continuous development, as the UAE is the largest commercial partner for the United States in the Middle East and North Africa region, according to the Ministry of Economy.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levit described the visit as a “historic return to the Middle East”, while observers believe that Trump’s choice of the Gulf again as his first station comes as an affirmation of the importance of the region’s role in various fields.
Bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries were established shortly after the UAE Federation in 1971, and the UAE embassy was inaugurated in Washington in 1974, and the US embassy was opened in Abu Dhabi during the same year.
The aspects of the Emirati -American coordination include several aspects, the most prominent of which are developmental, political, security, economic, commercial, and military coordination, and partnerships related to the announcement of the Ibrahimi Convention on Peace.
The two countries have succeeded in laying solid foundations for long -term cooperation in the economic field, and establishing innovative partnerships in new fields, including artificial intelligence, food security, clean energy, space exploration, and other priority areas in science, education and culture.
Economic relations
The two countries are linked to distinguished economic and investment relations, and according to the data of the Ministry of Economy, the value of the non -oil foreign trade of the Emirates with the United States of America during the year 2024 amounted to $ 32.8 billion, while the United States is the 6 trade partner globally for the UAE during 2024 and the first globally outside the continent of Asia; It accounted for 4% of the non -oil Emirates trade during 2024.
The UAE is one of the main investors in the United States of America; The value of investments is estimated at 1 trillion dollars distributed in the sectors of trade, aviation, manufacturing, energy, advanced technology and artificial intelligence.

The cooperation between the UAE and the United States, in the file of artificial intelligence, witnessed a remarkable development during the last period, driven by a strategic vision aimed at enhancing innovation and expanding the framework of digital infrastructure, in line with the employment of artificial intelligence techniques in formulating the future of humanity.
In the year 2024, the two countries signed several partnership and investment agreements in the technology and artificial intelligence. In April 2024, G42 announced the pioneering holding company in the field of artificial intelligence technology in the UAE, and Microsoft on a strategic investment of $ 1.5 billion from Microsoft in G42.
In June 2024, World Wide Technology, a leading technology integration company based in the United States of America, signed a strategic agreement with NXT Global, to create and develop the first artificial intelligence center in Masdar City in the Emirates.
In September 2024, a framework for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence was announced between the UAE and the United States of America.
The G42 and Microsoft Group announced last February the launch of the “responsible artificial intelligence” – the first position of its kind in the Middle East, which aims to enhance responsible artificial intelligence standards and consolidate best practices in the Middle East and South South.

Space Sector
The launch of the UAE probe in 2021 led to the strengthening of scientific cooperation in the field of space exploration between the UAE and the United States of America, which was evident through the new UAE mission to the asteroid belt in cooperation with the University of Colorado Boldar.
In the same context, the UAE plays a major role in the NASA, S Lunar Gateway project, as it will develop a unit dedicated to closing air for the crew and scientists, and will also send the first Emirati astronaut to the moon’s orbit, and the unit that is necessary for the safety of pioneers and task operations is scheduled to be launched by 2030.
Climate work
Climate work is one of the most important aspects of fruitful cooperation between the two countries, and this is highlighted through the partnership in order to accelerate the clean energy, which aims to mobilize $ 100 billion to produce 100 GB of clean energy by 2035.
The UAE is participating in the leadership of the AIM FOR Climate initiative with the United States of America, which includes more than 50 countries and 500 partners, to enhance sustainable agriculture, in addition to this Masdar Company in 11 clean energy projects in the United States of America, including the Solar Energy and Big Beau batteries near Los Angeles.
