Family Welfare Authority: The mother’s role is essential in the stability of the family and Emirati society

Abu Dhabi, March 20 / WAM / Her Excellency Salama Al Amimi, Director General of the Family Welfare Authority, confirmed that the stability of society stems from the family itself, with the mother’s position emerging as a pivotal element in this balance.

She said in a statement on the occasion of Mother’s Day, which falls on March 21 of each year, that the role of the mother cannot be priced, as she has the greatest impact in consolidating the strength of the family and the stability of society as a whole, noting that if the family is the basic pillar of society, then the mother represents its backbone, as she is the one who lays the foundation and builds on it with wisdom, care, and flexibility.

She added that our responsibility on this occasion is not limited to celebrating mothers, but rather requires us to think seriously about the best ways to support them so that they can perform their vital role in strengthening the cohesion of families and society, as empowering mothers represents a societal priority that contributes to the well-being of the entire society, and not just a family issue.

She said that the UAE has made the family a major focus in the national development process, as policies and initiatives throughout the country aim to support family stability and ensure that fathers and mothers receive the necessary support. She also stressed the importance of raising awareness about family well-being, especially in light of the challenges it may face related to education, financial stability, and social pressures, noting that open dialogue and early guidance helps families deal with these challenges before they escalate.

She explained that supporting families requires strengthening cooperation between various stakeholders, as social and health care, education, and community institutions play an integral role in ensuring that families receive the support they need, and through partnerships and coordination of efforts, an integrated system can be built that protects families and contributes to a more cohesive and resilient society.

She said: On Mother’s Day, we celebrate mothers everywhere, and renew our shared commitment to supporting them, appreciating their contributions, and ensuring that every family has the opportunity to thrive.
