Trump alludes to a close nuclear agreement with Iran

US President Donald Trump hinted on Thursday that an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program may be imminent, in statements made in Qatar, the second leg of his Gulf tour.

“I think we are close to concluding an agreement with Iran without the need to do so (in reference to military action),” Trump said in a speech Thursday morning.

On Thursday, Trump visited Al -Kadid Air Force Base, the largest American military base in the Middle East, and a crowd of American soldiers was awaiting the stands and behind them a large banner on which “peace is through power.”

During his address to them, Trump affirmed that his priority “ending conflicts not igniting them,” adding, “I will never hesitate to use American power if necessary to defend the United States or our partners.”
