“Tawteen” warns of fake emails impersonating its identity

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has warned of fraudulent e-mail messages being circulated impersonating the Ministry, claiming to come from the Ministry and inviting recipients to download files, click on electronic links, or share personal information, stressing that these messages aim to steal data and electronic fraud.
The Ministry has identified 3 important measures to protect against fake e-mail messages and avoid exposure to fraud, including: “Do not trust the name that appears, as it may be fake, and always check the full e-mail address and content of the message. Fake messages contain simple errors in the address, wording, and content of the message.”
The Ministry stressed the need not to rush in interacting with suspicious messages, explaining that fraudsters rely on intimidation or haste to push the victim to click on links or open attachments without checking, calling for the need to stop and examine the link before clicking on it or opening attachments.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation stressed that it will never ask customers to share “passwords, verification codes (OTP), card or bank account information”.
The Ministry called on customers to verify the authenticity of any message by communicating through its official channels, “the mohre.gov.ae website, the MOHRE UAE smart application, and the call center at 600590000.”
If a fraud attempt is suspected, the Ministry recommends not responding to the suspicious message, immediately stopping any action and closing the page, not clicking on links or opening attachments, immediately deleting the message and changing the email password as a precautionary measure.
