UAE and the United States .. A partnership for innovation and opportunities

Abu Dhabi, May 15 / WAM / His Excellency Imran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Technology Affairs, confirmed that the huge Emirati investment of $ 1.4 trillion in the American economy reflects the durability of decades strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, which is increasingly focused on emerging technologies.
This came during an interview with CNN, in conjunction with the visit of His Excellency US President Donald Trump to the UAE, which he described as “very important and historical.”
His Excellency said that the fields of cooperation in science and technology have become an essential and growing corner in bilateral relations, citing the mission of the Emirates to Mars in which he was “the main partner in transferring knowledge is the United States”, stressing: “We would not have succeeded without working alongside our American partners.”
He pointed out that the partnership expanded to include vital emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and energy, he said that “this investment reflects the fruit of contracts from the partnership, and emphasizes mutual trust between the two countries.”
He also stressed that the Emirati -American relationship is based on mutual benefit, and that these investments “will not create opportunities for the Emirates only at the economic, social and regional levels, but also for the American economy, by providing jobs and attracting talents in both countries.”
He stressed the importance of cooperation in developing responsible governance frameworks for emerging technologies, and he said: It is necessary that we have relationships characterized by close cooperation and mutual investments, and to invent governance systems for these new technologies that may have serious consequences if it is misused.
