Al Ain Zoo celebrates the International Day of Endangered Species

Al Ain on May 16/ WAM/ Al Ain Zoo celebrates the International Endangery Day, which falls on May 16 of each year, reviewing its 57 -year -old career and efforts to preserve endangered animals, which has devoted their role locally and globally to preserve nature and biological diversity.

The ways to protect wildlife in the animal garden in the eye vary between species protection, propagation, rehabilitation and care programs, and educating the community about the importance of protecting them and participating in that, in addition to initiatives, agreements, memberships and active participation in local and international forums.

As part of the latest natural propaganda programs, the park recently received three newborns from the Arab sand cat for the first time in several years with the aim of preserving this species threatened with extinction, according to the red list of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

In terms of memberships and international credits through which the park seeks to apply the highest standards of animal care and protection of wildlife, it has obtained the official accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquacultures (AZA), which is one of the highest and most difficult global credits in the zoos sector, where accreditation is given only to institutions that prove their full commitment to applying the best global practices and standards in caring for animal and environmental management.

It is worth noting that the launch of the animal garden in the eye was through the programs of protecting the Arab and Equipment in 1968 under the guidance and care of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the first environment man and the owner of the advanced thought in preserving wildlife, until the park became a safe home for many animals that exceed the number of more than 4000.
