7 European countries demand the occupying state to lift the siege on Gaza

On Friday evening, seven European countries called on the occupying state to refrain from carrying out more military operations, lifting the siege on the Gaza Strip, and ensuring the distribution of humanitarian aid safely, fast and without obstacles throughout the sector.
The leaders of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovinia, Spain and Norway said in a joint statement that they would not be silent in front of the humanitarian catastrophe that takes place in Gaza.

The statement explained: “He has lost more than (50) thousand men, women and children of their lives, and many people may die in the coming days and weeks if immediate measures are taken.”

The leaders condemned the additional escalation in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, with increased violence of settlers, the expansion of illegal settlements and the intensification of Israeli military operations, stressing that forced displacement or expelling the Palestinian people by any unacceptable means and will be a violation of international law.
The leaders called on all parties to enter immediately and urgently and in a good structure in the negotiations on the ceasefire and the release of all hostages.
“This is the basis that we can build a sustainable, fair and decent peace, dependent on the implementation of a two -state solution, and we will continue to support the right of the Palestinian people to self -determination, and work within the framework of the United Nations and with other actors to move forward to achieve a peaceful and sustainable solution.”
