Sharjah, May 19/ WAM/ Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, announced that Greece will be a guest of honor to the “44” version of the Sharjah International Book Fair 2025, after the signing ceremony of a joint agreement between the authority and the Ministry of Culture in the Republic of Greece took place in the Hall of the Board of Directors at the “Helickedo International” exhibitions and conferences in Greece, signed by each of them, signed by each From His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakad Al -Amiri, CEO of the Authority, and His Excellency Yassonas Vartaglas, Deputy Greek Minister of Culture.

She added that Sharjah is based on its cultural career as it has always been on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and today continues to consolidate this role by opening its doors to Greek culture, we believe that civilizations at the height of their prosperity were not closed but rather on dialogue and exchange despite the geographical distances, which is the approach that Sharjah communicates today to adopt a live dialogue And knowledge.

She pointed out that hosting Greece in Sharjah represents an invitation to explore the common roots in stories and legends and everything that has been a person’s awareness through the ages, noting that the Sharjah Book Authority seeks to make this session an exceptional station that highlights a country formulated with the Arabs an important part of the history of humanity and puts it in a dialogue with the present to enrich the future of cultural and literary creativity.

The Greek Deputy Minister of Culture emphasized that cultural cooperation with the Sharjah International Book Fair enhances ties between the municipal and the two peoples by preparing a participation program worthy of the Greek authors and publishers, and is in line with the tendency of Greece towards openness, growth and the growing international presence, thanking the Sharjah Book Authority for its constructive cooperation.

The Greek participation program includes the guest of honor in the 44th session of the exhibition, the presentation of a group of cultural and literary events that reflect the richness of the Greek heritage and its diversity, starting from philosophy, theater and poetry to contemporary literature and visual arts.
