Gaza – Discussions on the resumption of aid distribution

While the Gaza Strip is witnessing a sharp scarcity of supplies and commodities since the imposition of a comprehensive closure on it more than two months ago, the Undersecretary of the Secretary -General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher – in previous statements – said that there are 9,000 trucks ready to enter the sector with the food and medicine supplies that are intense.

Luiz Wateridge, a spokeswoman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), said that people in Gaza are going through an indescribable suffering.

It stated that the children are killed and the people are starving after eleven weeks of siege without allowing any aid to enter, while the full stores are just hours. She stressed the need to end this situation.
