Sharjah, May 20 / WAM / The Commercial and Tourism Development Authority in Sharjah participated in a delegation from 7 main partners in the tourism and travel sector, in the promotional tour of China 2025, during the period from 14 to 19 May, which included the cities of Shanghai and Ghawanjo (Guangzhou) and the Chinese Chinese Hong Kong, as part of its strategy to enhance the presence of the emirate on the global tourism map.
This step comes in line with the authority’s efforts to expand its international partners and promote the new tourist identity of the emirate under the slogan “Northam Sharjah”, and highlights an exceptional mix of cultural and natural experiences that the emirate offers to its visitors from all over the world and from China is one of the most promising tourist markets.
The delegation included a group of authorities concerned with the tourism, travel and hospitality sector, which included the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Sunrise), the Zajil Tourism Company, the Expo Center, Sharjah, Sharjah Group (the first leading local brand in the field of luxury hospitality in the emirate), the Sharjah Travel Airport Agency (Sata) alongside Emirates Airlines and a number of hotels.
The promotional tour focused on building and strengthening relations with senior specialists in the Chinese travel sector, which included travel agencies and wholesale companies specialized in products and tourism services designed for individuals, groups, digital travel platforms and luxury and educational tourism companies, in addition to the organizers of meeting tourism, incentives, conferences and exhibitions as well as travel platforms and electronic reservations, and aims to meet and bilateral meetings and meetings To support the development of innovative travel products that would attract Chinese tourists in the Emirate of Sharjah and enrich their experience throughout their period in the smiling emirate.

China is one of the most important and largest tourist markets and as a market that is accelerated annually for the Emirate of Sharjah in terms of the numbers of Chinese guests in hotel establishments in the emirate, where the year 2024 witnessed exceptional growth in the number of Chinese guests by more than 800% compared to 2023, after the resumption of air traffic between the Emirates and China with a significant increase in the average average hotel residence nights To reach more than 700%, which reflects the increasing interest of Chinese visitors in exploring the depth of the tourism experience offered by the emirate.
The first quarter of 2025 also recorded strong indicators on the continued growth with the number of hotel guests from China to about 33 thousand inmates, as it reflects a growth of approximately 79% compared to the same period last year.
