Dubai receives 7.15 million international tourists in 4 months

The Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai revealed the latest statistics on the performance of the tourism sector and the number of international visitors, as the emirate’s success in attracting 7.15 million international tourists showed during the first four months of this year, compared to 6.68 million tourists in the same period last year, with a growth of about 7%.

According to data issued by the department, the Emirates Today obtained a copy of it, as Western Europe ranked first, in terms of visitors to Dubai, based on the geographical area, valued at 22% of the total number of visitors during the period between January and April 2025, recording about 1.6 million international tourists, followed by Russia, the Association of Independent Countries and Eastern Europe with about 16%, recording about 1.17 million tourists.

The Gulf Cooperation Council states ranked third with about 15%, at a rate of more than a million international tourists, while South Asia acquired about 14% of the total number of international tourists to Dubai, also recording more than a million international tourists, and a percentage of 11% for the Middle East and North Africa, at a rate of 821 thousand tourists, while North and Southeast Asian countries acquired a share of 9% of The total, recorded 626 thousand international tourists.

The total number of international tourists from the Americas reached more than 497 thousand international tourists, with two of 7% of the total number, compared to a share of about 4% for Africa, at a rate of about 278 thousand visitors, while the “Australia” region acquired a percentage of about 2%, and at a rate of 111 thousand international tourists.

In addition, the number of hotel rooms in Dubai at the end of April 2025 reached more than 153.5 thousand hotel rooms within 831 hotel facilities, compared to about 151.8 thousand hotel rooms within 831 facilities by the end of April 2024, and the average hotel occupancy in all facilities operating in Dubai recorded 83.5%, during the period between January and April last, compared to 81.4% in the same period in 2024.

The luxury hotel rooms of the category of “five” stars acquired 35% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai, recording about 54.1 thousand hotel rooms within 168 hotel establishments, followed by the hotel rooms of the “four” stars with 29%, recording about 43.8 thousand hotel rooms within 198 facilities.

For its part, the hotels classified between “three stars” and “Najma” acquired about 19% of the total size of the hotel market, with a capacity of 29.4 thousand hotel rooms, among 278 hotel establishments, and hotel apartments recorded more than 26.2 thousand rooms within 187 facilities, to capture about 17% of the total size of the hotel market in Dubai.

At the end of last April, the stay of guests in Dubai hotels recorded 3.84 hotel nights, compared to 3.81 nights in the same period in 2024, while the number of nights (reserved rooms) reached about 15.29 million nights, compared to about 14.70 million nights overnight during the comparison period, with a growth rate of about 4%.

In turn, the daily price rate of the hotel room in Dubai reached 657 dirhams during the end of April 2025, compared to 627 dirhams in the same period last year, with a growth of 5%, while the average revenue from the rooms available reached 548 dirhams at the end of last April, compared to 511 dirhams in the same period last year with a growth of about 7%.
