"Etihad Airways" We are recorded in profits of 685 million dirhams during the first quarter
Abu Dhabi, May 21/ WAM/ Etihad Airways achieved a record financial performance during the first quarter of 2025, which enhances the success of last year with more noticeable improvements in revenues, operations efficiency, and the expansion of the fleet.
According to a press release issued today, the profits after the tax amounted to 685 million dirhams “187 million US dollars”, an increase of 30% on an annual basis, driven by improving the efficiency of operations and strong demand for passenger services, as the total revenues witnessed an increase of 15% compared to the first quarter of 2024, as a result of the continuous growth in the passenger and shipping sectors.
The Federation continues the regional leadership in the growth of passengers, as it transported 5 million passengers during the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 16% on an annual basis, while maintaining the strong momentum in the second quarter.
According to the press statement, that with the transfer of about 20 million passengers over the past 12 months, Etihad Airways is the fastest growth company in the region.
The rates of guest satisfaction during the first quarter of 2025, the highest level ever, achieved 20% improvement compared to last year.
Anton and Federation, CEO of Etihad Aviation, expressed pride in achieving a first quarter of an exceptional, whether in terms of profits or unprecedented guest satisfaction levels, and achieving the highest profit during the first quarter of 685 million dirhams, in addition to registering the best degrees of guest satisfaction in our history, reflecting the strength of our business and the commitment of our employees.
He added that the company is implementing a clear strategy through sustainable growth, operation efficiently, and maintaining its full focus on providing exceptional experiences for its guests, from continuous improvements in its services on board the plane to developing airport services, and launching its “A321LR” plane that provides a leading product in the market.
He pointed out that the company’s network continued to expand with the announcement of 16 new destinations for the year 2025, and the joining of a new plane to its fleet, while passenger revenues achieved a growth of 16 % to reach 5.5 billion dirhams “1.5 billion dollars”, thanks to increased capacity, continuous expansion of the network, and raising the frequency of flights.
The growth of passengers saw a remarkable improvement with a 14% increase on an annual basis in the kilometers available to the seats, and improved in the travelers’ load factor by 87% with an increase of one percentage on an annual basis.
The fleet is experiencing an acceleration in expansion, as the number of aircraft reached 98 aircraft in service by the end of the quarter, including the re-introduction of the sixth A380 A380 aircraft, while the operating fleet witnessed more expansion in April with an additional A350-1,000 delivery.
The Union occupied 80 destinations until March 2025, with the launch of 16 new destinations this year to support continuous growth and expand access to major global markets.
The improvement of shipping revenues in revenue growth by 8% on an annual basis, despite the decrease in the volume of demand by 4%.
The strong operational performance of the company is reflected in the profit account before calculating benefits, taxes, destruction and consumption, as it increased by 32 % on an annual basis, to reach 1.4 billion dirhams.
The net financial lifting improved to 1.1 times, compared to 1.9 times in March 2024, driven by the payment of debt and strong generation for cash, as cash flows from operations amounted to 1.8 billion dirhams “$ 500 million”, which reflects an increase of 11% on an annual basis.
