3 thousand citizens applied for 1,200 jobs in the exhibition of manufacturers during "Make in the Emirates"

Abu Dhabi, May 22 / WAM / The fourth session of the “Made in the Emirates” platform, which concluded its work today, witnessed the value of industrial purchasing opportunities to 168 billion dirhams under the umbrella of the national content program with the aim of localizing the manufacture of 4,800 products, up from 143 billion dirhams in the last year’s session.

This year, purchase agreements of 1.3 billion dirhams were signed.

On its second day, the platform “Made in the Emirates” witnessed the signing of a group of memoranda of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, Emaar, Salal for Food and Technology, Kalcas, and Cities of Holding, to join the “National Content Program”, bringing the number of members of the program to 35 entities and company.

The program, which was launched as part of the “Fiftieth Projects” of the UAE, aims under the umbrella of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to achieve economic benefits by redirect government purchases and leading national companies to the national economy through the industry and services sectors.

The cumulative value of local spending through the program reached 347 billion dirhams at the end of the year 2024.

On the sidelines of the fourth session, the Ministry of Industry and Technology announced the launch of the “Global Exchange Program for Emerging Companies”, a leading initiative aimed at linking startups in the UAE and around the world to new markets, business incubators, and potential investors.

The first experimental project was launched in cooperation with Japan, then moved to other countries, which opens new horizons for technology -based startups to expand their global presence. ADNOC continues to implement its strategy to enhance local content in the framework of the “Made in the Emirates” platform, to support the industrial sector, which is a basic pillar to enhance the flexibility of the national economy. She announced during her participation in the fourth session its strategic plan to re -direct up to 200 billion dirhams to support the national economy during the next 5 years, in order to support strategic projects and enhance the elasticity of the industrial base.

ADNOC aims to buy local manufacturing products with a value of up to 90 billion dirhams by 2030, as part of its efforts to provide feasible opportunities for manufacturers, investors and entrepreneurs, enhance the capabilities of the local manufacturing system, and support sustainable industrial growth.

The fourth session of the “Made in the Emirates” platform hosted the “Manufacturers” exhibition for 3 days, which is the event that was held with a joint organization between the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the “Nafs” program, and aims to enhance job opportunities in the private sector and enhance awareness of professional opportunities available in the industrial sector among the citizens of the Emirates. The exhibition witnessed the presence of more than 3,000 Emirati youth looking for work, and more than 10,000 immediate employment interviews were held, including many interviews that were conducted through artificial intelligence in 100 companies in the industrial and technological sector, which presented 1,200 jobs during the exhibition, in addition to a number of training and qualification opportunities for those wishing to work in the industrial sector in the state.

This year’s session of “Make in the Emirates” also witnessed the Abu Dhabi Investment Office for its strategic cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to support the “Manufacturers” program, which aims to enhance the participation of Emirati citizens in the industrial sector. Where this partnership aims to enable Emirati competencies to work in the industrial sector, and to contribute effectively to building an advanced manufacturing base in the country.

Thanks to the national content program, which includes “manufacturers”, the industrial sector contributed to providing more than 22 thousand job opportunities for Emirati talents at the end of the year 2024. The number of those who were operated through the exhibition of manufacturers reached 2,500 citizens and citizenship by the end of the same year.

An active participation of youth and innovators has emerged through display platforms dedicated to youth projects and small and medium -sized companies, as many Emirati youth presented technical solutions that support smart industrial transformation, which enhances the culture of innovation in the sector.

He also announced during the fourth session the launch of an Emirati national version of the “Youth Solutions” initiative, affiliated with the “Arab Youth Center”, to bear in its seventh session the title “Made in the Arab World – the Emirati version”, to motivate young people to provide creative solutions, innovative ideas and inspiring emerging experiences in the field of industry and its various sectors in order to enhance and sustainable comprehensive development.

Entrepreneurs over the course of the “Made in the Emirates” platform in its four days presented a review of their success stories and advice for youth to establish an industrial commercial work. It contributes to strengthening the sector with young competencies and enhances emerging projects.

The fourth session of the “Make in the Emirates” platform is a continuation of the success achieved by the previous three sessions on the level of supporting the goals of the national industry and advanced technology supportive and possible to consolidate the state’s position in the strategic and vital industries and future industries, enhance the competitiveness of Emirati products globally, and prepare all conditions to create an attractive environment for local and foreign investment in the industrial sector, encourage innovation and adopt solutions Advanced technology in various industrial fields.
