A strong start to the summer show jumping competitions at Boudheib Equestrian Academy

Abu Dhabi, June 15 / WAM / Equestrian Mohammed Laith Awad, from Al Forsan International Sports Resort, topped the one-round competition over the 1.30-meter hurdles, in the field of the Sultan Bin Zayed Grand Hall at the Boudheib Equestrian Academy, achieving the first victory in the opening of the summer show jumping competitions.

The summer events, organized by the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, are held at the Boudheib Equestrian Academy and the Sharjah Equestrian Club Center Hall, and include 13 weekly competitions, including 3 this June, 4 in July, and 5 next August.

The launch witnessed a large participation of show jumping riders in equestrian clubs and centers, accompanied by 243 horses, and the winners were crowned by Mohammed Hatem Al-Junaibi, Director of Events at the Boudhib Equestrian Academy, and Ahmed Ali Al-Junaibi, Head of the Academy’s Training Department.

Jockey Osama Al-Zubaibi, with the horse “BEC Hugo” from Al Forsan International Sports Resort, won the title of the two-stage competition over the 1.30-meter hurdles.

Jockey Saleh Mufarrej Al-Karbi, with “Cambridge Z” (7 years old), from the Sharjah Equestrian Club, won first place on the 1.20-meter hurdles in two special stages. The second competition at the same height in one round witnessed the jockey Ahmed Hashem winning first place with “Caldero” from the Mandara Equestrian Club.

Seven young jumping horses, aged 5 and 6 years, also participated in the two special stage competitions over hurdles (105 – 110 cm). The lead went to “Ortender” led by jockey Laith Kamel from the Sharjah Equestrian Club. The second competition at the same heights resulted in the superiority of “Prince Plus” led by jockey Sabri Badinki from Boudheib Equestrian Academy.

Equestrian Reem Khalil with “Shorbin” from Boudheib Equestrian Academy won first place in the two special stages over the (80-90) cm hurdles, while equestrian Layal Eldik with “Kayalef” from Romano Equestrian Club won the one-round race.

Equestrian Hassan Majid Al Awani scored his first victory with “Charlie Brown” from the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, in a one-round competition over obstacles whose height ranged between (90 cm – 1 meter), in which 88 participants competed.
