"Muslim sages" Participates in a discussion session on the promotion of peace

Nursatn, May 23 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elders participated in the discussion session organized by the Center for Religions and Civilizations in Kazakhstan; In the presence of a number of prominent religious and intellectual leaders, about the role of religious leaders in promoting sustainable peace.

During the session, which was held remotely, Mohamed Al -Amin, General Manager of the Regional Office of the Council of Muslim Wise Men in Central Asia, stressed that religious leaders are a basic pillar in building peace and enhancing its sustainability, calling for the transformation of interfaith dialogue into real partnerships that serve societies and rise with common human values.

He praised the pioneering efforts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of promoting dialogue, coexistence and harmony between the followers of various religions.

He added that the role of religious leaders in today’s world goes beyond spiritual guidance to building bridges of trust and inspiration, adding that, despite their difference, religions intersect in a fundamental goal that is to spread peace and consolidate human dignity.

He pointed to the experience of the model partnership that brought together the virtue of the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, and the late His Holiness Pope Francis, the Pope of the former Catholic Church, which resulted in the document of human brotherhood for world peace and coexistence, stressing that this historical document represents an inspiring moral reference to proceed in efforts to promote peace and coexistence.
