المملكة: Transport Authority: Suspending the requirement for certificates to be valid for issuing and renewing navigational licenses

Declared announced the suspension of the application of the requirement for the validity of certificates and documents required to issue or renew and work licenses for marine units.
This comes for a period of (30) days, extendable when needed, provided that there is no impact on the safety of lives and , for Saudi and foreign ships located within the Kingdom’s territorial waters in the Arabian Gulf.
Streamlined operational processes
This decision comes in response to the current circumstances, and to support the continuity of maritime business and enhance the streamlined operational processes within the Kingdom’s territorial waters.
Granting a temporary exception to Saudi and foreign ships in the waters of the Arabian Gulf from the requirement that the required certificates and documents be valid for a period of (30) days.
The exception includes ships related to marine businesses and projects within the Kingdom’s maritime areas, which may face operational challenges that prevent them from leaving to complete technical requirements or conduct the necessary checks outside those waters.
The Authority confirmed that this measure aims to enable ships to continue their work efficiently and safely, and to enhance the flexibility of operational operations, while adhering to the relevant regulatory requirements.
