The CEO of Operations and Guest Affairs at Etihad Airways, Captain Majid Al Marzouqi, revealed that more than 400 Emirati pilots and more than 200 Emirati aircraft and technical engineers working in the company currently, along with 40 citizens working in foreign stations and Abu Dhabi airports, after their graduation in the training programs provided by “Etihad Airways” within its strategy aimed at attracting the ambitious Emirati cadres that The company’s growth plans will be enhanced by 2030.
Al -Marzouki told «Emirates Today» on the sidelines of the “My Step for Employment 2025” exhibition, organized by “Etihad Airways” yesterday, that the carrier aims to employ 70 pilots, 30 aircraft technicians, 30 station managers and officials in the ground operations of the airports, all of them are citizenship cadres, during the current year within plans aimed at employing more than 1,000 Emirati and Emirati during the next five years to meet expansion and growth plans The big carrier.
He added that the company is working on an ambitious plan to expand the four main training programs, which are the pilots program, engineers, technicians, and airport operations, in addition to the “beginning” program in which some new graduates are qualified and their performance and productivity evaluated, then annexing them to the company, along with the master’s campaign program that is employed in the company after evaluating their performance.
Al -Marzouki pointed out that “Etihad Airways” supports the expansion of training and qualification programs for citizenship cadres to support the company’s expansion plans, driven by the distinguished financial situation of the company and the tangible growth that it is witnessing annually, and plans for the number of company aircraft to about 200 aircraft by 2030, which requires attracting more citizenship cadres qualifying to support this plan.
He affirmed that the success rate in the citizen pilots program reached 98%, while the technician program was restructured, explaining that when citizenship cadres pass all stages of the program, they are eligible to work as aircraft technicians in a period ranging from two to two and a half years, but if the trainee continues in the program and worked hard for two to two and a half years, he will be qualified to work as a aircraft engineer.
Al -Marzouki pointed out that the “My Step for Employment 2025” exhibition – which attracted more than 3000 citizens and citizens who are looking to work in the aviation sector – is the first organized by “Etihad Airways” and targets the ambitious Emirati cadres that wish to work in the aviation sector, whether as pilots or flight engineers or to work in airports operations or as managers in the external stations of the carrier, after training and qualifying them through the programs that the company prepares For this purpose.
For his part, the CEO of “Etihad Airways”, Anton and Rivis, said during a press conference held on the sidelines of the exhibition that the year 2025 will be the most developed years in the history of “Etihad Airways”, where destinations will rise to more than 90 destinations in 50 countries, while the number of passengers will increase to more than 21 million passengers, and the number of aircraft during the current year will rise to 115 aircraft.
In turn, the CEO of human resources and institutional affairs at Etihad Airways, Dr. Nadia Bastaki, said that “Etihad Airways” currently includes more than 12 thousand employees of 147 nationalities, which shows the great diversity in the nationalities working in the company.
