The first Emirati agricultural exhibition starts in Al Ain 28 May

The Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Amna Al -Dahhak Al Shamsi, announced the launch of the UAE Agricultural Exhibition and Exhibition 2025 in its first version in Al Ain, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Vice President and Prime Minister of the Presidential Court, from May 28 to May 31.

Al -Dahhak said in a press conference organized by the media office of the UAE government, yesterday: “We shed light on a new initiative, the launch of the first agricultural conference and exhibition, where it is held in Al Ain, as an Emirati agricultural center, for which our late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, was established for him. She emphasized that agriculture is a societal approach in the UAE despite the challenges of climate, pointing out that it has witnessed great growth.

She added that «the aim of the conference and the exhibition that will witness the launch of the National Agricultural Museum and the Emirates Youth Council for Agriculture, is to support the agricultural sector and the citizens of the citizens and local farms to expand its production in the country, leading to achieving the national food security strategy 2051, by making the UAE the first globally in the field of food security.

Al -Dahhak continued: “Through the conference and the exhibition, we will be able to provide support for farmers to contribute to the UAE food security. We are keen that the conference be comprehensive for the various target groups, such as the private sector, startups, farmers and all elements of society, to achieve a qualitative shift in this field.

She stated that the conference will witness the participation of more than 100 citizen farms, more than 1,000 school students, more than 75 speakers, 20 emerging companies, more than 20 government agencies, and 40 private companies, while more than 35 sessions and dialogue will witness.

She emphasized that «the conference mainly focuses on scientific research, so we were keen on attending universities in this event, as four universities participate in it, and school students participate in the framework of our permanent focus on young people and future plans, so that we explain to them the importance of specialization in this sector in the future.

In response to a question to «Emirates Today», about the importance of scientific research in the agricultural sector, there are a number of challenges facing us in the sector, such as the climatic nature, so cooperation with universities supports the development of solutions to raise the efficiency of water use, exploitation of soil, create an agricultural environment enhanced by technology, and know whether the environment is closed or open to agriculture, and linking it to data through artificial intelligence, to provide automation to the agricultural system In full, the development of technology for the farm in some logistics, such as water, pesticides, or operating aspects.

And she continued: «There are research centers working to develop solutions to challenges, and we also create a space for dialogue between workers and researchers in the agricultural sector on one platform, as we have allocated a full day for this dialogue.

She stated that «the conference and the exhibition will witness the launch of the National Agricultural Museum, which tells us the legacy of agriculture and its green spread in the country, its history and current fact that enhanced technology, and the Emirates Youth Council for Agriculture will be launched on the sidelines of the conference.
