Sharjah Police seizes a driver who caused a collision between 3 vehicles and escaped from the site

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department of Sharjah Police, Colonel Mohamed Abdullah Alie, stressed that the lack of adherence to the itinerary is one of the most prominent causes of traffic accidents, because of the serious risks that may lead to severe injuries, especially when such behaviors occur on highways where the speed reaches 120 km/h; This makes any sudden deviation from the path a direct threat to the life of drivers and road users.

This came in the wake of a shock and escape accident recently on the airport street, in which a vehicle driver caused a sudden deviation from the road line and collided with three vehicles, then he escaped from the accident site, and indicated that the driver was seized in less than six hours only from receiving the communication, and thanks to God and then the speed of response and technical integration between smart systems and the cameras network; This contributed directly to identifying the vehicle and tracking the driver.

He added that no injuries were recorded among the drivers as a result of the accident, but escaping from the collision site is a crime punishable by law, and it indicates a serious recklessness of the safety of others, and the absence of moral and legal responsibility.

The Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department called for the need to adhere to traffic systems, adhere to the correct itinerary, and use traffic signals when moving from one track to another; In order to ensure the safety of drivers, and maintain traffic security, and explained that escaping from the site of the accident is one of the grave violations punishable by federal law regarding the regulation of traffic and traffic for a period not exceeding one year, or a fine of no less than 50,000 dirhams and not exceeding 100,000 dirhams, or one of these two penalties.
