Rome on May 24/ WAM/ The Emirates -XRG Bicycle Team continued its brilliance in the Jiro de Italy race, after its rising star Ezik del Toro succeeded in maintaining the pink shirt for the fourth consecutive day, after his third in the thirteenth stage that ended in the city of Vicenza.
Del Toro, 20, managed to maintain his lead in the general classification, thanks to a distinguished tactical performance and strong support from his colleagues, as he is now 38 seconds ahead of his teammate Juan Ayoso, who won important seconds at the intermediate time point, before entering decisive mountainous stages in the race.
The Emirates team dominated the first and second places in the overall standings, beating Antonio Tiberi of the Bahrain -Victorias team, which is third with a minute and 18 seconds.
As the decisive mountainous stages are approaching, it is expected that the Emirates team will continue to impose its hegemony and approach an additional step towards achieving a major achievement in the race.
