High injuries to dengue fever in the Pacific countries

The health authorities in the countries of Samoa, Tonga Vigi in the Pacific Ocean announced the recording of (42) confirmed injuries to dengue fever during the current week, distributed as follows: Tonga (15 injuries), Samoa (15 injuries), Figi (10 injuries), and Cook Islands (two injuries). Seven months, an eight -year -old boy.

In Fiji, three deaths were recorded since the beginning of the year, while a 12 -year -old child died in New Zealand after suffering hemorrhagic dengue while he was in Samoa.

The authorities added that the Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga and Figi are considered one of the most affected countries with the spread of infection, which mosquitoes transmit to the human body and cause severe symptoms such as fever, pain, and rashes.

For his part, Australian health expert, Professor Mark Show, stressed that the level of risk of injury is still low, calling on passengers to the Basific countries not to cancel their trips, while taking the necessary precautions such as using mosquito repellent and wearing light -colored clothes.
