Dibba Al -Hosn Festival for Bilateral Theater continues its activities by presenting offers and seminars

Sharjah, May 26 / WAM / under the gracious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, yesterday evening at the Cultural Center in Dibba Al -Hosn continued the activities of the eighth session of the Dibba Al -Hosn Festival for the Bilateral Theater, in the presence of Ahmed Bouraima, Director of theater Department in the Culture Department and the director of the festival, along with a group of artists, theater and critics from inside and outside the country.
The third day of the festival witnessed the presentation of the Moroccan theatrical show “Hayat and Dream” to the Al -Shamat Theater band, written and directed by Bousseham, the weak, and starring Hind Ballah and Sufyan Naim, where the show dealt with the relationship between the story and memory in a dramatic framework in which the past intersects with the present.
The presentation was based on retrieval and montage techniques, and merged three main stories, which gave a human and philosophical dimension to the text, supported by distinguished audio performance and poetic employment for the theatrical language.
In the critical symposium that followed the presentation and moderated by Moroccan director Ahmed Amin Al -Sahel, critics discussed the work method and his narrative structure, pointing to the challenges imposed by the presence of the narration on the movement of the actors over the stage, while the director explained that the narration option came to revive the role of the word in the theater and highlight its expressive power.
In the context of the accompanying activities, the sessions of the twentieth Sharjah Forum for the Arab Theater, which was held under the slogan “Theater and Life”, concluded yesterday evening, with the participation of researchers and academics from the Arab world.
Dr. Mohamed Al -Anaz presented an intervention entitled “Interpretation of Life in the Moroccan Theater”, in which he focused on the relationship between art and life from an existential perspective, reviewing the manifestations of this in the play “Al -Babush or the snail eaters”, while Dr. Katia Al -Tawil from Lebanon dealt with the relationship of the Lebanese theater with reality, “stressing the ability of the theater to overcome the reflection of reality to ask the fundamental questions that affect the heart of society.
The Lebanese artist Ziyad Itani also presented a testimony entitled “How cities live in the lives of their woods … Beirut as a model”, in which he reviewed the influence of the theater in the conscience and history of cities, pointing to the role of the theater in the reunification of people after the war, and the renewal of hope in Beirut starting in 2015.
At the conclusion of the forum, Ahmed Bouraima honored the participants of artists and researchers, and gave them certificates of appreciation for their contributions to the success of the event.
Within the festival’s training program, the Dibba Al -Hosn Association for Culture, Arts and theater hosted a workshop entitled “Employment of Dolls in the School Theater”, presented by the Lebanese artist Dr. Karim Dakroub with the participation of 30 trainees, and the workshop included a theoretical review of the doll’s art march, followed by a practical application for the “Arousa stick” industry using multiple materials, and discussing the role of the doll in enriching the school theatrical show.
At the end of the workshop, Alia Al -Zaabi, the festival coordinator, honored Dr. Karim Dakroub and presented him with a certificate of thanks and appreciation.
