Deputy Minister of South Africa Communications: The UAE is an inspiring development model and we hope for a strategic partnership in the space sector

Dubai, May 26/ WAM/ His Excellency Mondley Gongopili, Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Transformation in the Republic of South Africa, confirmed that his country’s participation in the leaders of the leaders of the “Samina 2025” Council is an important opportunity to enhance joint cooperation and exchange visions on priority global issues, led by sustainable development, climate change, and reduce debt burdens on low -income countries.
This came in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the summit held today at the Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai, in the presence of a high -level presence, and was opened by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, under the auspices of the General Authority for Regulating the Communications Sector and the digital government.
“We are proud to participate in this summit, which represents a collective investment in the human capabilities, and a platform for dialogue and joint work. Our participation is of special importance in light of the current presidency of South Africa for the Group of Twenty, which allows us to enhance the values of solidarity, equality and sustainability at the global level.”
He pointed out that South Africa was keen to attend to present its vision about the role of the Group of Twenty, and to emphasize its commitment to push a global agenda focusing on facing climate change, and supporting low -income countries in facing financial challenges, expressing his aspiration to hold fruitful bilateral meetings that result in real partnerships and strategic agreements.
Gongobili also stressed the depth of relations that bring together South Africa and the UAE, which are strengthened by multiple memoranda of understanding in various fields, explaining that cooperation in the space sector is a common priority during the next stage.
He added: “We are currently working on a joint project with the UAE to establish a satellite for South Africa, taking advantage of the great progress achieved by the UAE in this field. The vice president accompanied me to the summit to accelerate the pace of this partnership. We also signed a memorandum of understanding and looking to develop it to advanced executive stages.”
His Excellency praised the Emirati development experience, describing it as the leading global model of progress and prosperity .. He said: “Through my repeated visits, I see that the UAE is comparable to the first world countries in its advanced infrastructure, and its vital sectors such as transportation, communications, hospitality, and urban development. This achievement proves that progress is not related to color or background, but to the will, commitment and action Serious. ”
Gongobili appreciated the speech of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan during the opening of the summit, describing it as “inspiring” and reflecting a deep human vision of the necessity of coexistence and building stable societies based on the values of respect, understanding and diversity.
