Mansour bin Zayed and Hazaa bin Zayed witness the start of the first edition of the Emirati Agricultural Conference and Exhibition in Al Ain

Al Ain, May 28 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Presidency Bureau, and His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in Al Ain region, witnessed the start of the first edition of the UAE Agricultural Conference and Exhibition in Al Ain, which is organized by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in the ADNEC Al Ain Center from 28 to 31 May.
During the visit, their Highness inspected the corridors of the exhibition, as they looked at the latest in the fields of smart and vertical agriculture, and modern technologies that enhance the efficiency of local agricultural production.
The tour included the National Agricultural Museum, which documents the development of agriculture in the UAE and reflects its vision towards a sustainable agricultural future.
They also inspected a number of platforms of national companies and specialized farms that review innovative solutions to deal with climate challenges in the desert environment, within the framework of the state’s efforts to consolidate a flexible agricultural model adaptive to environmental variables, which contributes to enhancing food security.
The tour included the “farmers exhibition”, which highlights local crops and beekeepers, along with specialized areas such as the “youth area” concerned with empowering young people and encouraging them to innovate in the agricultural sector, and “agricultural technology area” that display smart solutions and advanced practices.
The tour also included the “Schools and Universities Zone”, designed to encourage students and researchers to explore agricultural solutions and participate in educational activities, in addition to the “community area” for workshops, “private entities zone”, “startups area”, and “government agencies area” that provide support and legislation for farmers and the development of the sector.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the organization of the Emirati Agricultural Conference and Exhibition in Al Ain holds a special symbolism that embodies the UAE’s commitment to strengthening the national agricultural system, and expresses an integrated vision that makes agriculture one of the engines of sustainable development, and a key pillar in achieving food security.
His Highness pointed out that supporting and empowering citizens is a strategic choice that aims to enhance local production, achieve self -sufficiency, and develop the national economy.
He added: “The citizen farmer is a major partner in the march of agricultural development, and its investment in modern technologies guarantees the sustainability of this vital sector.”
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that the organization of the Emirati Agricultural Conference and Exhibition in Al Ain reflects the position that the region enjoys in the national agricultural system through the consolidation of agricultural culture as a solid community practice in the local identity, pointing to His Highness to the importance of the concerted efforts of the public and private sectors to support and encourage investment in smart agricultural technologies and expand local agricultural production, in a way that contributes to promoting supply chains and achieving Self -sufficiency in the food sector, in line with the goals of the national food security strategy.
At the start of the conference, His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, delivered a major speech that carried the slogan “The local product .. a success story that the world tastes”, during which the history of the Ain Agricultural History, which extends for more than 4 thousand years, and what it embraces from the oases of singing witnessed on a living agricultural heritage, praising the foundations that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was established His wealth, which was launched from Al Ain to develop an agricultural sector possible with science and technology for a safe food future for the Emirates.
Her Excellency stressed: “The citizen farmer is the essence of this conference, and we seek to provide all forms of support to it, whether through partnerships, or to facilitate access to knowledge, or enable it to present its products and experiences.”
She explained that one of the most prominent outputs of the target event is to highlight the national agricultural capabilities, support citizens of citizens, enhance the use of modern agricultural technologies, raise the efficiency of local production, and enhance the position of local crops in the markets, and stressed the importance of involving society in various categories to consolidate agriculture as a community culture.
22 governmental exhibition and agricultural exhibition will participate in the Emirati conference concerned with the agricultural and food sector, 40 private companies, 4 national universities, and 20 startups specialized in innovative agricultural solutions, in addition to the presence of more than 1,000 school students to benefit from the exchange of knowledge and expertise offered by the institutions and companies participating in the exhibition.
The conference includes many activities that support agricultural transformation, as the integrated cognitive program includes more than 75 speakers in more than 20 words, dialogue session and presentations that cover all aspects of agriculture in the UAE.
The event also includes about 35 workshops, including 11 specialized workshops for farmers and 24 workshops for members of society, and deal with vital topics that include the role of international organizations, legislation, youth, innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific research.
The event also witnesses the launch of the “National Agricultural Museum”, which documents the march of agriculture in the UAE and its development from traditional agriculture to smart and sustainable agriculture, as well as the launch of the “Emirates Youth Council for Agriculture” in cooperation between the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment and the Federal Youth Foundation, with the aim of involving young people in leading the future of sustainable agriculture in the country by participating in preparing strategic plans to enhance the efficiency of the agricultural sector and adopt innovative ideas that contribute In promoting national food security.
