The American flag was raised in Damascus for the first time in 13 years .. video

The American flag was raised over the residence of the Washington Special Envoy to Damascus today, for the first time since the embassy was closed in 2012.

A video clip, circulated by the media, showed the American special envoy to Syria, Tom Barak, the American ambassador to Turkey, while the flag was raised in the presence of Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al -Shaibani.

It is noteworthy that the United States has not yet assigned an ambassador in Syria, and has not returned its embassy.
