Mother’s Day is a national and humanitarian occasion to express appreciation to mothers

The Minister of Family, Sanaa bint Mohammed Suhail, confirmed that Mother’s Day represents a national and humanitarian occasion to express deep appreciation for mothers, who constitute the beating heart of the family and the foundation on which cohesive societies are built.
She said in a statement on the occasion of Mother’s Day, which falls on March 21 of each year: The mother is the first school in which human features are formed. In her embrace, children learn the meaning of belonging, and in her care, the values of responsibility and giving grow, and through her calm daily role, mothers create generations that carry values and continue the development process with confidence and faith.
She added that the UAE has paid special attention to the mother in light of the continuous care and support of the wise leadership, through an integrated system of policies, legislation and initiatives that enhance her role in society and enable her to achieve a balance between her family responsibilities and her effective contribution to the development process.
She praised the pioneering role of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates,” President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, who contributed with her vision and efforts to consolidating the status of the mother, empowering women, and enhancing family stability in society.
She pointed out that the celebration of Mother’s Day this year coincides with the Year of the Family, in a clear affirmation of the pivotal position of the family in the national development process, and the importance of supporting and empowering it as it is the first environment in which values are formed and national identity grows.
She said: On Mother’s Day, we not only celebrate a great role, but we also celebrate a daily building story that is silently written in every home. Every mother is a source of inspiration, a generation maker, and an essential partner in building a brighter future for our country.
