Austria praises a huge project to produce green hydrogen

Vienna on May 29 / WAM / The Austrian Oil and Gas Group “OMV” announced its plan to build one of the largest electrolysis factories of green hydrogen in Europe, a production capacity of 23 thousand tons annually. The group, partly owned by the State of Austria, explained that the new station relies on wind energy, with a capacity of 140 megawatts, and revealed the location of the station’s construction in the “Brock Nir Lita” area in the state of “Burgnland” Austrian. Alfred Stern, CEO of the Austrian company, confirmed that the OMV group aims to reduce its net emissions to scratch by 2050, and that the green hydrogen strategy constitutes a “milestone” on the path to determining the specified goal. “The station will play a pivotal role in moving from gray hydrogen to green hydrogen,” Stern said.
