Zayed Olaya: "Bond" Our approach to supporting people with sclerosis

Abu Dhabi, May 30/ WAM/ The Zayed Upper Foundation for People of Determination launched a qualitative initiative to support its employees who are living with multiple sclerosis that affects a person and leads to a disability from parts of physical disability, in a move that reflects the Foundation’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all those with determination, including its functional cadres.
The new initiative, which coincides with the International Day of Multiple Sclerosis, which falls on May 30 of each year, aims to provide specialized psychological and social support for the injured employees, as well as giving them additional privileges and adopting a flexible work environment that takes into account their health conditions, while including educational and guiding programs.
Under the slogan “Sindh”, the Foundation launched this year a series of awareness films through its digital platforms, which highlights the role of the family, society and the professional environment in supporting people with sclerosis, while this concept reflects the “Zayed Upper” approach in providing a comprehensive support umbrella, not limited to medical aspects only, but extends to social and humanitarian empowerment.
The Foundation affirmed its continuous commitment to serving all groups of people of determination, noting that the real bond begins to recognize the individual needs of each person, and work to provide an understanding and stimulating environment for the injured, whether from the beneficiaries of the institution’s services or from cadres that represent part of its fabric.
For its part, Sidra Al -Mansouri, Director of the Department of Services of People of Determination at the Foundation, said that multiple sclerosis mainly affects the age group from 20 to 40 years, and women are more important than men, which makes awareness and early support very important.
She added that the Foundation focuses on strengthening psychological and social support programs, and intensifying awareness campaigns during the month of May to include various segments of society, with the aim of consolidating a culture of solidarity and solidarity with people with the disease.
The Foundation earlier, as part of its ongoing efforts, launched several awareness initiatives, most notably the update of the card owners of people with sclerosis by adding a special color symbolizing the disease, and distinguishing the permits of their car parks in the adopted logo color, in cooperation with the integrated transportation center and Abu Dhabi Police, to facilitate the provision of appropriate support, and the Foundation produced awareness films about the nature of the disease, its symptoms, and ways to adapt to it, She organized workshops and virtual courses that dealt with multiple topics such as rehabilitation, psychological support, healthy nutrition, treatment art, care for pregnant women, and creating a work environment
At the level of partnerships, the Zayed Upper Foundation continues its cooperation with the National Association for Multiple Sclerosis, to send messages of support to the registered injured, and to contribute to building a sustainable community support network.
At the end of its message, the Foundation called on all members of society and its institutions to be the real and permanent “bond” for everyone who faces health challenges, stressing that solidarity is the first step towards a comprehensive, sympathetic society, which contains everyone.
