Beijing records 8.2 million tourist visits during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday

BEIJING, on June 3/ WAM/ The Culture and Tourism Office in Beijing Municipality announced that the Chinese capital recorded 8.21 million tourism visits during the Dragon Boat Festival, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same period last year.

The People’s Daily newspaper reported that the holiday, which spanned from May 31 to June 2, witnessed the achievement of tourism revenues amounting to 10.77 billion yuan “about 1.49 billion US dollars”, an increase of 6.7% compared to the previous year.

She pointed out that the coincidence of the Dragon Boat Festival on May 31 with the Children’s Day on June 1, contributed to the growing demand for family trips and educational tours, which strengthened tourism activity in the city.
