Dubai Roads announces an integrated project to develop Al Wasl Street with a length of 15 km

In implementation of the directives of the rational leadership (may God protect it), in accelerating the pace of work in developing the infrastructure projects of the road network, raising its capacity, to enhance the smooth flow of traffic in the Emirate of Dubai, to keep pace with the comprehensive development witnessed by the emirate, and to absorb the needs of urban development and population growth, enhance the smooth flow of traffic, and achieve the quality of life for residents and visitors of Dubai, the Roads and Communications Authority announced a project project Integrated to develop Al Wasl Street, from its intersection with Umm Suqeim Street to its intersection with the second street of December, with a length of 15 km, which includes the development of six intersections by making improvements at one intersection and implementing five tunnels with a length 12,000 vehicles per hour in both directions.
The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, Matar Al -Tayer said: The vitality and cosmetic agriculture, indicating that the project serves a vital area that includes many modern tourist facilities that include beaches, hotels, luxury restaurants and residential areas, with an estimated population of more than a million people.

Al -Tayer added: “The project includes the development of Al Wasl Street from its intersection with Umm Suqeim Street, until its intersection with the second street of December, with a length of 15 km, where the street will be expanded from two tracks in each direction to three tracks in each direction, and it also includes the development of six intersections on Al Wasl Street with the streets of Al -Thana, Al -Manara, Umm Al -Shayf, Umm Amara, Al -Arabism, and Al -Safa, by implementing five tunnels with a total length of 3850 Meters, where improvements will be carried out on the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Al -Thanya Street, and a one -way tunnel is carried out at the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Al -Manara Street with a capacity of three tracks, two rages are branched from the direction from Sheikh Zayed Street to Jumeirah Street, and two in the direction from Sheikh Zayed Street to Umm Suqeim Street, with a capacity of 4,500 vehicles per hour, in addition to a tunnel on Umm Al -Shef Street, with a capacity of two tracks in the direction from Sheikh Zayed Street to Jumeirah Street, with a length of 750 meters, a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour. The project also includes implementing a tunnel at the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Umm Amara Street with a capacity of two tracks in each direction, with a length of 700 meters, and a capacity of 6400 vehicles per hour in both directions.
He explained that the project includes the implementation of a tunnel in one direction, at the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Al -Oruba Street, in the direction to Jumeirah Street, with a length of 625 meters, with a capacity of two tracks, with a capacity of 1,400 vehicles per hour, and the implementation of a tunnel at the intersection of Al Wasl Street with Al -Safa Street, with a length of 750 meters, with a capacity of two tracks in each direction, and its absorptive capacity is estimated at about 6400 vehicles per hour in both directions, as the project includes conversion Al -Sattwah Roundabout to the intersection governed by light signals, and the implementation of superficial improvements on five intersections on Jumeirah Street with updating the light signal operating system.
Umm Suqeim axis – ability
It should be noted that the Al Wasl Street development project comes as a continuation of the comprehensive plan announced by the authority, and includes the development of Umm Suqeim Street, from its intersection with Jumeirah Street to its intersection with Al -Khail Street, which contributes when completed to increasing the capacity of the street from 12,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, to 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, achieving the flow of traffic, and reducing the trip time in the part between Jumeirah streets And horses, from 20 minutes to 6 minutes, serves many residential and developmental areas, whose population is estimated at more than two million people.
The project includes the development of six intersections on Umm Saqim Street, with Jumeirah Street, Al Wasl Street, Sheikh Zayed Street, Al Khail First Street, Al -Asayel Street and Al Khail Street, and includes the implementation of four bridges, and three tunnels with a total length of 4100 meters, and a tunnel will be carried out at the intersection of Umm Suqeim Street with Jumeirah Street with a capacity of two tracks in each direction, and the implementation of a superficial intersection governed by light signals, and a tunnel will be implemented at the intersection of Umm Saqim Street With Al -Wasl Street, with a capacity of two tracks, in the direction from Sheikh Zayed Street to Jumeirah Street, while providing free surface movement directly in the direction to Sheikh Zayed Street.
The project also includes the implementation of two bridges at the intersection of Umm Saqim Street with Sheikh Zayed Street, to cancel the traffic interference movements at the current intersection, and a tunnel will be established on the intersection of Umm Saqim Street with the first horse Street, serves the traffic coming from the Al -Barsha area, towards Sheikh Zayed Street, and implementing superficial improvements to the intersection, and also includes adding one path on Umm Saqim Street from its intersection with Al -Khail I Street to Al -Asayel Street, where the number of tracks will rise to four tracks In each direction, it also includes the implementation of two bridges at the intersection of Umm Saqim Street with Al -Khail Street, the first from Al -Khail Street to the Al -Quoz Industrial Zone, and the second serves traffic from Umm Saqim Street to Al -Khail Street towards the Deira area.
Al Qudaa Street
It should be noted that the Roads and Communications Authority is currently implementing the project of developing Umm Saqim Street, from its intersection with Al -Khail Street to its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, until its intersection with Emirates Street, and includes the development of the intersection of Umm Suqeim Street with Al Barsha Street in the south, by creating a tunnel with a length of 800 meters, with a capacity of four tracks in each direction on Umm Saqim Street, and the creation of a superficial intersection governed by a light signal, as well as the development of the main intersections On Al -Qudra Street, which extends from its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street, passing through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, all the way to Emirates Street, and the project includes the development of a number of intersections, including the implementation of bridges of 2700 meters, and the development and expansion of the current street with a length of 11.6 km, and this stage of the project contributes to increasing the capacity of the street, and reducing the trip time from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes.
