King Abdullah Medical City saves the eyesight of a Turkish need and restores the hope of completing the rituals of Hajj

A medical team in King Abdullah Medical City succeeded in saving a Turkish need from losing its eyesight in the right eye after it suffered from a sudden weakness and confusion in the vision that lasted for several days, before it later became clear that the result of a dangerous separation in the retina accompanied by the presence of white water, which is one of the critical cases that threatens the vision center and requires immediate intervention. The symptoms caused by envy or fatigue until her visual condition suddenly worsened, which necessitated her transfer to Al Ain Health Center in King Abdullah Medical City, where accurate clinical examinations revealed the presence of a hole in the retina that led to its separation, in addition to the presence of white water that requires urgent surgical intervention.

The medical team, led by Dr. Mohamed Al -Maliki, a consultant for networking and surgery, with the support of the anesthesia and nursing team began an advanced operation that included the removal of white water, the cultivation of a lens inside the eye, the removal of the glass body, the repair of retinal separation and the injection of silicone oil, within the scope of one day operations that culminated – thanks to God – with success, and then the need left in a stable condition under accurate medical follow -up.
