A health crisis .. Why was 1.7 million eggs withdrew from the American market?

The Federal Health authorities in the United States announced, on Saturday, the outbreak of Salmonella infection, with dozens of states in 7 states in the West and the Middle West of the country with satisfactory conditions.

August Eg withdrew about 1.7 million eggs, after distributing it in stores between February and May, due to the possibility of contamination with Salmonella bacteria, according to the announcement of Friday’s publication on the US Food and Drug Administration website.

The centers of control and prevention control reported that 79 people in 7 states were afflicted by Salmonella associated with these eggs, and 21 of them were transferred to the hospital.

The withdrawals include the states of Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Washington and Wyoming.

Symptoms of salmonella include diarrhea, fever, severe vomiting, dehydration and stomach cramps, while most of the injured recover within a week.

However, the infection may be dangerous for young children, the elderly, and people who are weak in immunity, and may require hospitalization.
