UAE products support initiatives raise their sales of up to 80% since the beginning of 2025

Officials in the retail sector confirmed that the initiatives for supporting national products “of Emirati origin” that witnessed an expansion in the markets during the last period contributed to increasing sales of these products in the outlets of sales at different rates.
They told «Emirates Today» that highlighting the offers of national products, raising their sales by rates that reached 80% since the beginning of this year, as well as increasing their sales during May 2025 alone by 20%, referring to a set of facilities provided by sales outlets, such as allocating prominent display spaces for Emirati products, giving them priority in purchase requests and receipt from branches, and allocating employees in the branches to take care of products And promoting it, as well as facilitating the monthly payment mechanism for suppliers, exemptions from fees, and free ads through digital platforms belonging to some cooperatives.
The priority of the offer
In detail, the CEO of the Federation’s cooperative, Mohamed Al -Hashemi, said that “(the cooperative) supports the priority of the display of Emirati products, as well as the support initiatives provided to these products”, pointing out that the Federation’s cooperative signed during the recent period with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, a strategic partnership note, within the framework of the “Make in the Emirates” campaign, aimed at supporting and enhancing the presence of national products in the outlets in the sales outlets At the state level.
He explained that «this partnership represents an important step to enhance the status of locally manufactured products, through which (the cooperative) provides a set of incentives for the participating manufacturers, which includes allocating prominent display spaces for Emirati products, with dedicated shelves in the branches, as well as supporting training and rehabilitation programs, fees exemptions during the campaign period, and free advertisements via the collaborative platforms of the cooperative.
Al -Hashemi stressed that the Federation’s cooperative is constantly enhancing the levels of sustainable national food security, and building new partnerships with the private sector, in addition to encouraging citizens ’farmers, in a way that enhances sales of Emirati products origin, noting that« the cooperative is working to enhance the competitiveness of the Emirati product, through its commercial and digital platforms. ”

For his part, the President and CEO of the Lulu Commercial Group, Saif Robawala, said that “the expansion of the initiatives to support the Emirati products adopted by the group through its branches during the recent period, the number of national goods produced locally in the group’s outlets increased to more than 5,000 products, with its food and non -food, and contributed to raising sales of Emirati products, during May 2025 alone, for example, by about 20%, by about 20%, by about 20%, by about 20%, for example, by about 20% Compared to the past months.

In the same context, the CEO of Sharjah Cooperation, Majed Al -Junaid, said that “the (cooperative) expansion in the initiatives to support Emirati products originated, offered a large number of manufactured goods in the UAE, with its various branches, which contributed to the growth of (cooperative) sales of local products by more than 80%, since the beginning of this year, compared to the same period last year.”
He explained that «Sharjah Cooperative Administration) is constantly working to expand the initiatives to support Emirati products, and give them priority in the offer, as well as enhance the status of agricultural and locally manufactured products, through a set of facilities that include allocating prominent display spaces for Emirati products, dedicated shelves, giving them priority in purchase requests and receiving from branches, and allocating employees in branches to take care of products and promote them, In addition to facilitating the monthly payment mechanism for suppliers.
He continued: «The total number of national products that are offered in the branches of (Sharjah Cooperative) reached more than 1000 national products, which included food products, such as bread, milk, flour, eggs, dairy and cheese of various kinds, as well as frozen vegetables, rice, pasta, oils, juices, water, soft drinks, dates, sweets, chocolate, and some vegetables. Fruits, as well as detergents and disinfectants of all kinds, aluminum paper, home use bags, and air fresheners.
He pointed out that «(the cooperative) has dealt during the past years with more than 100 farms at the level of the UAE, by displaying their products and marketing them in the branches, which positively affected sales of those local agricultural products.
As for the sales manager in one of the retailers chains, Daily Fishal, he said that “the expansion of the initiatives to support the offer of Emirati products, contributed to the growth of its sales at rates of about 20%monthly, especially for food products from canned and vegetables.”

“The expansion of many retail outlets during the recent period in adopting the initiatives to support Emirati products, which contributed remarkably to highlighting the offers of these products against consumers, which contributed to increasing the demand and sales of those products,” said Ibrahim Al -Bahr.
He added: «National products have various competitive factors that have strengthened the high sales, focusing in low prices, compared to many imported products, high quality, and increasing confidence in them, with the distinction of the local industry by being subject to regulatory criteria that are among the highest in the world.
