"Free Sharjah International Airport" Explores collaboration opportunities with Hong Kong business leaders

Sharjah, February 5 / WAM / During its meeting today with a delegation from the business community in Hong Kong, the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority discussed exploring investment opportunities, enhancing industrial cooperation, and potential partnership frameworks with the Authority, in a way that contributes to supporting the business environment and attracting quality investments.

This came during a meeting with His Excellency Saud Salem Al Mazrouei, Director of the Authority, with a delegation that included 20 senior business leaders, headed by Dr. Aaron Shum, Chairman of the Hong Kong and Middle East Business Council, who represent a variety of vital sectors in the fields of investment, advanced manufacturing, technology, energy, health care, real estate, and luxury goods.

His Excellency Saud Salem Al Mazrouei confirmed that the visit reflects a growing interest from business leaders in Hong Kong in exploring the opportunities provided by the free zone and enhancing communication channels with the business community in a way that supports the building of effective partnerships based on added value and sustainable growth. He pointed out that the free zone is working to consolidate its position as a business platform capable of attracting quality investments by providing a supportive environment for expansion and growth and facilitating the building of industrial and commercial relationships that contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of companies and their expansion in the region’s markets.

He explained that the authority’s priorities focus on attracting investments related to advanced technologies and high-value manufacturing and enhancing integration opportunities between international companies operating in the fields of technology, energy, health care and luxury goods in a way that keeps pace with investors’ aspirations and enhances business dynamism, noting that the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone is keen to build long-term partnerships based on industrial and technical integration and supports qualitative investment flows that enhance the competitiveness of the business system in Sharjah.

For his part, Dr. Aaron Shum said that the Hong Kong business community is interested in expanding its presence in the region through strategic partnerships that open new horizons for industrial and investment cooperation.

He pointed out that the diversity of sectors represented by the members of the delegation confirms a real desire to build multi-track cooperation linking commercial, industrial and technical expertise in Hong Kong and the opportunities offered by the Sharjah International Airport Free Zone, as the next stage requires developing flexible and practical partnership frameworks that ensure the achievement of shared value and enhance opportunities for exchanging experiences and expanding access to markets in a way that serves the interests of companies and enhances their ability to grow.

He stressed that the Hong Kong and Middle East Business Council looks forward to supporting communication channels between companies and advancing cooperation paths that can contribute to enhancing investment, developing joint projects, and expanding the network of economic relations in a sustainable manner.

The meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation and partnership in key sectors such as jewelry, diamond trading, luxury watch manufacturing and trading, as well as construction and real estate development, engineering consulting, and advanced technology, including artificial intelligence, robots used in construction, and nano-coating technologies.

The two sides discussed the fields of energy, energy storage systems, health care, pharmaceuticals, and functional health products, in addition to consumer electronics manufacturing, international wholesale trade, and e-commerce, in addition to family offices, financial services, risk management services, and due diligence.

At the conclusion of the visit, His Excellency Saud Salem Al Mazrouei received a commemorative shield presented by the delegation of business leaders in Hong Kong in a step that reflects the depth of ties between the two sides and the growing position that the Emirate of Sharjah is establishing as an international business platform capable of attracting companies and investors from various global markets through a stable regulatory environment and a clear economic vision that supports industrial and technical diversity and contributes to building sustainable partnerships that enhance the integration of value chains and support the competitiveness of the local economy in the long term.
