Al -Ahly youth qualifies for the AFC Champions League quarter -finals

Dubai, June 9/ WAM/ Al-Ahly youth team qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League basketball, which is currently hosted by Dubai, despite its loss to the Japanese Outsonia Brix team with a score of 99-105, in the second and final round of the second group competitions that were held at the Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Hall in Al-Ahly Youth Club.
Al -Ahly’s qualification came thanks to its superiority in the scored points difference after the group’s three teams were equal in the number of points (3 points for each team), after each of them won one match and another loss.
Al -Ahly youth took the lead of the group by +8 points, followed by the Philippine “Mirko Boltz” team by -3 points, then the Japanese “OTSNOMEA Brix” team by -5 -points.
After the end of the second round competitions in the three groups, the Regional Office of the International Basketball Federation in Asia will hold a lottery to determine the arrangement of the nine participating teams, to choose the eight teams that qualify for the quarter -finals, which includes the first and second each group, along with the two best teams that occupy second place with the exclusionary round matches in the “Coca Arena” hall in Dubai.
