As part of the activities of the second day of the event, the Sharjah Book Authority participated in a session entitled “Enabling Emirati Publishers through the Sharjah Fund for Publishing Publishing (Anchor),” during which Iman bin Shaybah, director of the Strategic Initiatives and Global Markets Department at the Sharjah Book Authority, and Shatha Nasser, founder of Kyrus Publishing House and one of the winners in the first session of the launch track in the “Ashbar” box.

Iman bin Shaybah said: Our participation in (Digital Innovation Week in Reading, Books and Libraries) comes to confirm Sharjah’s commitment to building a sustainable future for the publishing industry in the UAE and the region, where the Sharjah Fund for Sustainability of Publishing (Publish) represents a strategic initiative aimed at enabling publishers through three integrated paths: launch, growth and innovation, and the idea of ​​the fund is inspired by a central question: How do we guarantee the publishing industry that It continues and flourishes for decades to come. The answer was: by creating a training, financing and guidance system that prepares publishers to meet the market challenges and expand their business with confidence and professionalism.

Thanks to the vision of Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Books Authority, the Fund provides the participating publishers an integrated environment that includes professional guidance and specialized training and linking publishers to networks of partners and experts as well as practical advantages such as commercial licenses, work spaces, low cost printing and support for translation, and we are proud of what we touched during our participation in wide interest from international attendees with a model (spread) as an example Apply to various global markets, where we have already received requests to hold follow -up meetings to explore cooperation opportunities.
