The Minister of Community Empowerment, Shamma Bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, confirmed that the social support program targets all citizenship families whose total income is less than the approved decent life line, noting that in 2022, the ministry restructured the social support program for low -income people, with the aim of ensuring a decent life for UAE -limited income families, and enabling them to benefit from economic opportunities to enhance their flexibility and its ability to achieve their full capabilities, The program includes the provision of financial allocations that include several allowances granted in accordance with the terms and conditions related to the social status, as well as social support services and bonuses to face inflation.

She said in a book response, to a question from Council member Saeed Rashid Al -Abedi, about “Supporting retirees who retired before 2008” and the measures taken by the ministry in narrowing this difference and raising the standard of living for these citizens: “The social support program is based on a set of basic principles, including providing a decent life for all citizens with low incomes, achieving social protection for the most needy groups, and enhancing the culture of shared responsibility between the government and the citizen, support and empowerment The beneficiaries of integration into the labor market, and changing family and societal behaviors in line with national trends and priorities.

Al -Mazrouei added: “For the category of retirees from citizens who exceeded the age of 60, the ceiling of the colleagues of the head of the family has been raised from 5,000 dirhams to 13,000 dirhams, with the aim of enhancing their financial stability and providing the minimum life of a decent life, and within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to motivate individuals to work and increase productivity, a new category has been created within the program under the name of the working category / referred to retirement, and this category includes citizens working for those who have income Limited, in addition to retirees. “

She pointed out that this category was designed according to an ascending approach, as the decent life line begins with an amount of 5,000 dirhams, and increases by 2,000 dirhams for each decade of ten years of work, to reach the ceiling of 13,000 dirhams to the head of the family, and the wife’s allowance is added to 3,500 dirhams, in addition to the children’s bonuses.
