The announcement came during a press conference organized by the Foundation in its center in Abu Dhabi, coinciding with the International Day for Awareness on the treatment of the elderly, to confirm the pivotal role of the family in providing a safe and supportive environment that enhances their psychological and physical health, and establishes the values ​​of loyalty and giving between generations.

The press conference was attended by His Excellency Maryam Mohamed Al Rumaithi, Director General of Family Development Foundation, His Excellency Abdel Rahman Al Balushi, Director of Strategic Planning and Institutional Development at the Family Development Corporation, His Excellency Saeed Al Ghafli, Director of the Support Services Department at the Family Development Corporation, His Excellency Wafa Al Ali, Director of the Family Development Department at the Family Development, a number of social experts in the institution, a number of strategic partners, and entities The partner, media representatives, and senior citizens.

In her speech, His Excellency Maryam Mohamed Al -Rumaithi said that a guide “Let’s protect our elders with love” embodies the firm commitment of the institution to senior citizens, and is considered an awareness reference that highlights unintended emotional behaviors that may negatively affect them, and she explained that the evidence provides positive alternatives that enhance human communication and contribute to building a safer and warm environment for them, adding: Only, we renew the covenant towards those who preceded us in giving, and we consolidate the culture of kindness and appreciation in every home and institution.

Al -Rumaithi indicated that respecting this group and its appreciation is a firm approach that is inspired by the vision of the wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, and from the thought of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak “Mother of the Emirates” and her constant keenness to contain and appreciation to those who contributed to building the homeland.

Her Excellency stressed that the Foundation seeks through the evidence to consolidate an environment based on the real appreciation of the experiences and wisdom of senior citizens, and highlight the importance of effective communication with them and listen to their needs without prior assumptions, in a way that enhances their feeling of value and belonging.

She emphasized that the evidence takes into account the peculiarities of the age stage of this category, and aims to improve the quality of their lives by involving them in family decisions and providing opportunities for fruitful social interaction.

After the conference, accompanying activities that included general discussions on the axes of the guide were launched, and reviewing a training program entitled “Controlly steps towards protecting senior citizens”, in addition to a workshop on their rights and an innovative interactive game to consolidate the concepts of evidence.
