Al Ain Municipality launches an expanded campaign to educate 10,000 workers about the risks of heat stress

Al Ain, June 15 / WAM / Al Ain Municipality launched an expanded awareness campaign under the slogan “Safety in the Free 2025”, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, in conjunction with the effect of the implementation of the “Labor Prohibition at noon” at the state level.

The campaign aims to educate 10,000 workers about the risks of work in hot and exposed places in the sun during the afternoon, as part of its efforts to protect workers from the effects of heat stress and diseases related to high temperatures during the summer.

The campaign extends over three months from June 15 to September 15, 2025, and focuses on the ban hours prescribed from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, as temperatures intensify and the risk of thermal stress increases.

Dr. Ghawiya Hamid Al -Nuaimi, head of the awareness and communication department of the Environmental, Health and Safety Department, said that this initiative comes within the framework of the commitment of the municipality of Al Ain to provide a safe and healthy work environment, to ensure the application of the highest professional safety standards, in addition to raising societal awareness of the importance of taking preventive measures during the hot summer months.

She explained that the campaign provides basic awareness programs to protect workers from heat stress and work risks in the summer, and works to enhance the culture of thermal safety and understand the thermal stress management program in open work sites, in addition to confirming the commitment of institutions to apply the law to prohibit work at noon, and provide a suitable and safe work environment, and urge employers to provide self -training to ensure continuous education and awareness.

The campaign includes a package of field and awareness activities, which includes the distribution of indicative leaflets, the organization of workshops and community events in cooperation with partners from the government and private sectors, in addition to implementing inspection field visits to ensure the commitment to preventive measures and labor laws in force, while emphasizing the responsibility of employers in providing safety necessities such as the refrigerated water stations, shadow and resting places for workers.
