"Jumeirah" 72 marine turtle is launched for its natural homeland in Dubai

The Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project this year has achieved a qualitative achievement in the field of preserving marine life, after saving a small turtle turtle, a huge head of turtle, a type that is not known for nesting in the Persian Gulf, as this is an important scientific discovery in the region, because it has not been recorded by any nesting cases of this type in the Persian Gulf.

According to experts of the International Federation for the Preservation of Nature and Regional Organizations, and unlike the rest of the turtles that have been re -launched, this turtle is still under sponsorship, in preparation for its launch in its natural environment in the coming months, while its rescue comes after another achievement achieved in 2024, represented in finding a green turtle in Abu Dhabi for the first time, which reflects the growth of the region in the efforts of preserving the marine environment Globally.

“Sea turtles are among the creatures that require care and accurate study, given the structure of their complex bodies and their inhumane behavior, and from here the importance of intensifying research to understand the patterns of their migration and behavior during the nesting periods emerge. Every discovery contributes to deepening our knowledge of its life cycle, We provide us with the scientific foundations for setting effective protection mechanisms in the Gulf region, in order to support the continuity of the environmental efforts made and direct them towards tangible results.

To celebrate the International Day of the Naval Tariffs, “Jumeirah” organized a set of activities that highlight its initiatives in protecting marine life, as the “Jumeirah Resort of Saadiyat Island”, in cooperation with the Environmental Authority in Abu Dhabi, hosted an event to launch 135 marine turtles on the resort’s beach.

The guests of “Jumeirah Bali” on the Indonesian island of Bali witnessed the launch of newly hatching turtles into their natural environment, as part of a long -term partnership with the Environmental Tourism Authority in Bali, where the event included an interactive educational program that focused on protecting marine turtles and marine biological diversity, with the aim of raising awareness of preserving the oceans and encouraging responsible travel methods.

“Jumeirah” is working to expand its initiatives to protect the marine environment, in addition to its efforts to rehabilitate the turtles, through projects to restore coral reefs, which fall within the efforts to preserve the environment in the sustainability strategy that follows.

The new coral nursery in Lake Turtle at the Jumeirah Al -Naseem Hotel has become open to visitors, and added to daily educational activities.

The joint efforts reflect the great commitment of “Jumeirah” to sustainability according to the principles of responsible environmental and social governance, as it continues its efforts through practical initiatives that include the launch of turtles into their natural environment, the cultivation of coral reefs, and the introduction of guests with marine protection initiatives, in preserving the environmental systems surrounding their hotels and resorts, and enhancing society’s awareness of the importance of preserving biological diversity in the marine environment.
