The Emirati Publishers Association confirms its commitment to sustaining the publishing industry and consolidating its position

Sharjah, June 16/ WAM/ The Board of Directors of the Emirati Publishers Association, during its meeting yesterday, which is the second in its ninth session, reviewed a set of files that reflect the association’s commitment to enhance the sustainability of the Emirati publishing sector and establish its regional and global position by enabling local publishers and opening new horizons for them within international markets.
The Council reviewed the most important achievements of the association in the year 2024 and the first half of the year 2025 and reviewed the work plan of the second half of this year and the upcoming cultural participation in international book shows, the most important of which is the Beijing International Book Fair.
The Council renewed its commitment to its role in advancing the growth and prosperity of the publishing sector in the country and enhancing its sustainability by enabling Emirati publishers and opening direct channels with relevant global institutions and bodies, discussing mutual cooperation and providing bridges of literary cooperation with publishers from the countries of the world through direct meetings to sell and buy publishing and translation rights, stressing the continuation of the cultural march led by the Emirati Publishers Association since its foundation.
Amira Boukdra, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, said that the meeting is an important station to draw the features of the next stage, through which we aspire to expand the scope of the Emirati cultural impact on the international publishing map and the advancement of the sector in a way that reflects positively on the development of the creative economy in the country as a basic pillar in the UAE’s vision of a more diversified and sustainable future.
She added that the association is committed to continuing to work according to the directives of Sheikha Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the founder and honorary president of the Emirati Publishers Association, which we are inspired by insistence and innovation in every step that we take towards strengthening the national cultural scene and we derive from it the incentive to continue building on what has been achieved and innovate new paths to enhance the ability of Emirati publishers to compete and influence globally.
