The Sudanese exemption from the validity of the 6 months of the passport

The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security stated that the subjects of the Republic of Sudan, violators of residence, can issue new visas, renew their residences in the country, and issue identity cards, with passports of less than six months.

The authority said in a special statement to «Emirates Today», that this step came as an exceptional measure aimed at facilitating the procedures for amending their conditions in appreciation of the exceptional circumstances that their country is going through, according to the powers granted to the authority under the entry and residence law of foreigners.

The decision came into effect as of last May 19, and it will continue until the end of this year, where the citizens of the sisterly Republic of Sudan, who have resulted in financial fines, can correct their conditions and apply for new issuance and renewal through the official digital channels of the authority even if the passport period is less than six months, explaining that the procedures will be easy and flexible while exempting them from the fines arising from them.

The authority emphasized that this step comes within the directives of the rational leadership, to facilitate the procedures for issuing residency and issuing the identity card for residents who violated the nationals of the Republic of Sudan, who were unable to renew their passports due to the exceptional circumstances that their country is going through, in coordination with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the strategic partner of the authority.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security decided to exempt fines and reduce the requirements of the citizens of the Republic of Sudan, in a move that reflects the state’s keenness to alleviate the repercussions of the exceptional circumstances that the Republic of Sudan is going through.

She emphasized that this decision comes as an embodiment of the fixed policy of the UAE in supporting the brothers and providing human support to the affected peoples, especially in times of crisis, and an extension of initiatives that confirm the state’s position as a incubator for tolerance and human solidarity.

The authority emphasized that this decision comes within the framework of supporting national efforts to enhance the social and humanitarian stability of residents on the land of the state, as it embodies the vision of the rational leadership in consolidating the values of mercy and giving, and is a true translation of the mission of the UAE towards enhancing the principles of humanity and peace.
