13.5 billion dirhams of hotel establishments revenue in the Emirates during the first quarter

Abu Dhabi, June 17 / WAM / The hospitality sector in the UAE achieved a strong performance during the first quarter of the year 2025, as the revenues of hotel establishments amounted to about 13.5 billion dirhams, after it recorded more than 8.4 million inmates during the first three months of this year, an increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2024, and a total of 29.3 million hotel nights, while the hotel occupancy rate reached 81.3%.
The announcement of these results came during the second meeting of the “Consultative Council for Hospitality” for the year 2025, which was held under the chairmanship of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council, and the membership of 16 presidents and executives of a group of the most prominent national and international tourist hotels, during which they discussed a number of new national initiatives aimed at enhancing the growth of the hospitality sector and providing job opportunities in cooperation with the private sector.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri stressed that these numbers reflect the great interest that the state attaches to the development and development of the hospitality industry depending on the best global practices, as it has been done to pump huge investments to develop hotel and entertainment infrastructure in the various seven Emirates, and organize major global events, and provide exceptional hospitality experiences that reflect the authentic Emirati heritage and culture, so that the UAE today becomes one of the best global destinations in the field Hospitality.
His Excellency said: The year 2025 represented a distinguished year and a milestone for Emirati tourism, where the election of the UAE daughter, Sheikha Al -Nuwais, as the first woman in the world to hold the position of Secretary -General of the United Nations Tourism Organization for the period from 2026 to 2029, which is a qualitative achievement that will establish the leadership of the Emirates in supporting international efforts that lead the development and sustainability of the global tourism sector.
In detail, the Council discussed a set of files and issues that support the state’s efforts in the growth and competitiveness of the hospitality sector, stressing the importance of supporting cooperation between the government and private sectors to achieve the targets of the “National Tourism Strategy 2031”, and that the UAE is the best tourist identity around the world by the next decade.
The Council reviewed the new program launched by the Ministry of Economy, “Summer Hospitality Camp, 2025”, and its vital role in supporting Emiratisation in the fields and activities of the hospitality industry in the country, and to provide training and qualification courses for school and university students in a realistic environment such as hotels and tourist facilities, as well as the training paths included in this national program.
The Consultative Council for Hospitality, which was established by the Emirates Tourism Council, aims to provide advice and recommendations for the hospitality sector and provide them to the President of the Emirates Tourism Council, provide information and tourism data on the developments and developments of the hospitality sector in the UAE, and to propose new initiatives and ideas from the private sector that support the growth of the hospitality sector and the leading tourism status of the state, and to provide observations and visions of policies And government government initiatives.
