Abu Dhabi launches the service of “flexible work” for care providers for parents of senior citizens
The Family Development Foundation, and the Government Empowerment Department, announced the details of the “flexible work” service, which allows employees from the care of their parents from senior citizens, to benefit from flexible work systems in cooperation with the Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi, within the framework of the “Our blessing” initiative, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.
The service aims to enable children to balance their family and professional responsibilities, ensuring the provision of optimal care for senior citizens, promoting family cohesion, and raising the quality of their lives within flexible and stimulating work environments.
Maryam Mohamed Al -Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation, stressed that the Foundation takes over senior citizens a top priority, and is constantly seeking to enable the care of care, and provide ways to support them to perform their family and professional role efficiently and effectively.
She added that household care requires a special commitment and attention, and that the Foundation is keen to provide the necessary controls to facilitate this task, including the presence of a permanent nurse for cases of senior citizens, in addition to continuous coordination with the work authorities.
For his part, Ibrahim Nasser, Undersecretary of the Government Empowerment Department- Abu Dhabi, said that the department is proud to be part of this inspiring humanitarian initiative, which seeks to develop the organizational policies of human resources in the Abu Dhabi government, and empower employees to play their family role without affecting the quality of their professional performance.
He pointed out that the initiative contributes to the consolidation of a flexible work environment, and the balance between personal and practical life, which reflects positively on the welfare of employees and the sustainability of government performance.
In the same context, Abdul Rahman Al -Balushi, Director of the Strategic Planning and Institutional Development Department at the Family Development Corporation, explained that the service allows the employee to submit an application to obtain a certificate of “a major care provider for parents”, which enables him to apply with an official request in terms of his work to benefit from the flexible work system, within clear conditions and criteria.
He explained that among the most prominent conditions is that the employee is one of the workers in one of the government agencies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and that the status of senior citizens should require continuous care inside the house, based on a medical report issued by a licensed health facility in Abu Dhabi, provided that the report does not exceed three months.
In turn, Wafaa Muhammad Al Ali, Director of the Family Development Department at the Family Development Foundation, explained that among the conditions for obtaining the flexible work service is that the parents of the applicant are among the senior citizens who have exceeded 60 years of age, according to the national policy of senior citizens, and that the applicant is from their first -class relatives “son or daughter”, and resides with them permanently in the same residence, and a holder of a summary issued by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Permanent in the emirate.
She explained that the application is done through the “Tamm” platform for government services, using digital identity; Where the applicant attaches the required documents, and receives a notification to confirm the request, then the date for a field visit is determined for social study, followed by the evaluation of the case and the issuance of the certificate.
This step comes within the framework of the continuous efforts of the Abu Dhabi government to enhance the quality of the lives of senior citizens, and to provide practical solutions to citizen families that help them achieve balance, play their family roles, and to assume their professional responsibilities, in a way that establishes the values of righteousness, family cohesion, and institutional flexibility at the same time.
