King Abdullah Medical Complex organizes an event on the occasion of the International Food Safety Day in the Safety Walk

The King Abdullah Medical Complex, a member of the second Jeddah Health Assembly, organized a field awareness event on the occasion of the International Food Safety Day, in the Safety Walk, under the slogan “Food Safety is the responsibility of everyone”, with the aim of enhancing societal awareness about the importance of sound practices to ensure food safety and preventive diseases. Including: proper storage for foods, hands cleaning, checking the validity of products, and safe cooking methods, as well as providing health information through electronic barcode so that beneficiaries can save and review health information when necessary.

The actors emphasized that this initiative comes within the efforts of the complex in supporting public health programs, and spreading a culture of prevention, in order to keep up with the goals of the Saudi Ministry of Health in promoting healthy lifestyles.

The International Food Safety Day is celebrated in June of each year, according to the United Nations in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), to highlight the importance of food safety in public health promotion and food security.
