The UAE participates in the Beijing International Book Fair 2025

Abu Dhabi, June 19 / WAM / The Ministry of Culture will participate in the 31st session of the Beijing International Book Fair, which will be held in the Chinese capital from 18 to 22 June, as part of its commitment to enhancing cultural dialogue and openness to global cultures.
The participation of the ministry comes within the “Emirati House” pavilion, which was opened in the presence of His Excellency Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi, the country’s ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, and Saadbark Al -Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, and His Excellency Rashid Al -Kous, Executive Director of the Emirati Publishers Association, and with the wide participation of government agencies at the federal and local levels, academic institutions and Emirati publishing houses, with the aim of presenting features The creative scene in the country, and deepening cultural and cognitive exchange with the People’s Republic of China.
The Emirati program offers a series of various events, including dialogue sessions, artistic and reading workshops for children, and live popular art shows, as well as platforms for displaying Emirati books and publications.
The program also includes introductory offers with national cultural initiatives implemented by different parties in the country, such as: the recommendation service to obtain the golden residence of the creators, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, the “word” project for translation, and the programs of publishing and supporting translation, which contribute to supporting the authorship, reading and translation movement at the Arab and international levels. Participation also contains the corner of the “Emirati Chinese Archive”, which highlights the distinguished cultural and historical relations between the two countries, and highlights aspects of joint cooperation in the areas of creativity, publishing and translation.
In this context, His Excellency Mubarak Al -Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, stressed that this participation comes within the framework of the UAE’s keenness to enhance global cultural dialogue and open new horizons for cooperation with Chinese cultural institutions, noting that culture constitutes a strategic bridge that enhances relations based on respect and mutual understanding between peoples. His Excellency said: “Our participation in the Beijing International Book Fair is a strategic opportunity to enhance cooperation with China in the areas of publishing and translation, expanding the prospects for cultural partnership with the continent of Asia, and providing a comprehensive image of the Emirati cultural movement.”
He added: “We believe that the support of publishers and creators is an investment in the future of knowledge and in building a reader, educated and open society to the world … From this standpoint, the Ministry of Culture worked to enable writers through the national program for granting culture and creativity that has yet funded more than 30 Emirati creators in the field of authoring and publishing that includes books, magazines and digital publishing, within the framework of sustainable support for local cultural production.”
The Beijing International Book Fair is one of the most prominent cultural events in the world, as it attracts thousands of publishers, thinkers and intellectuals from different countries of the world.
