Consumers demand sales outlets to expand the deployment of price detectors

Consants demanded the expansion of the deployment of price detection devices in various major and medium sales outlets, and put them in clear places, as well as writing commodity prices clearly and in large letters and in prominent places that facilitate their reading.
They assured to «Emirates Today» that some major sales outlets provide a few price detection devices that do not exceed three devices, with the absence of illustrative signs indicating their places in the outlet, pointing out that most of the outputs Shelves, consumers are surprised at more than 70% compared to their real prices when reviewing the bills after purchase.
In turn, two officials in the two outlets said that the past period witnessed an increase in the number of price detection devices in some large outlets, to facilitate consumers, pointing to plans to raise the number of devices to range between six and 10 devices, especially in the main and large branches. They confirmed the presence of a large number of sales outlets at all times of work to help consumers and answer their various inquiries during shopping.
Consumers demands
In detail, the consumer asked Aisha Ibrahim to publish more price detection devices in the major sales outlets, as well as put them in clear places inside the outlet, to be easily accessible.
She told «Emirates Today»: “Some branches of the sales outlets are devoid of price detection devices, or do not provide sufficient number of them, as some of them provide no more than three devices, despite the large area that the sales port occupies,” noting that these few devices are placed in places that are difficult for many consumers to reach.
Ibrahim referred to another issue related to writing the prices of some goods in a small, unacceptable line, and in unclear places such as the bottom of the shelves, which is difficult to read.
And she continued: «I bought a kind of tissue that was recently launched in the market, after I read its price of 22 dirhams, but after reviewing the bill after purchase, it became clear to me that the price of these napkins is 32 dirhams, i.e. an increase of more than 45% over the price that I read,” noting that the price was registered with a small, unclear line at the bottom of the shelves.
For his part, consumer Iyad Sultan called for the deployment of price detection devices in the intermediate sales outlets, enabling consumers to verify the price. He said that “most of the middle -sales outlets are devoid of these devices, and they also adopt writing the prices of goods and products offered in a small and sometimes readable line.”
Sultan offered his experience, saying: “I bought a class of legumes, after I read the price as 14 dirhams, but I discovered after reviewing the bill at home that the real price is 24 dirhams, an increase of 71% over the price I read,” noting that the price was written in a small line.
In the same context, consumer Samir Safwat agreed on the importance of publishing price detectors, putting easy -to -access signs, and helping consumers use them if they are not aware of how.
He said that the number of devices is few in the branches of some major sales outlets, and is similar in many intermediate sales outlets, despite the dependence of some consumers on them to meet some of their necessary needs, especially as they are close to their residential areas.
Safwat pointed out that some of the sales outlets write the prices of commodities in a small line or in unclear places, and the prices of commodities are written closely, which makes the consumer believe that the price is specific to the commodity he bought, unlike the truth.
He pointed out that he bought a shoe after he believed that his price was 78 dirhams, as he read it, but after reviewing the bill he discovered that its price is 128 dirhams, an increase of 64%, due to what happened to the way the price was presented and written in a small and unclear line.
Increase
In addition, the official in one of the major sales outlets, Muhammad Al -Asaad, said that the past period witnessed an increase in the number of price detection devices in some large sales outlets, to facilitate consumers, stressing that the sales outlets are planning to raise the number of these devices to range between six and 10 devices, especially in the main and large branches.
He explained that a large number of sales outlet employees are widespread at all times of work, to help consumers and answer their various inquiries if they need to do so.
For his part, the official in another outlet, Abu Bakr Hafiz, revealed that the outlets were finally modified writing the prices of commodities, to be in a larger and more clear line, and in colors, indicating that this is an experience that must be circulated in various sales outlets.
He believed that the deployment of price detection devices in intermediate sales outlets may face some technical difficulties, as well as high prices, which constitutes an operational burden on them.
